Intermedio surf retreat: the week the points open up

You can catch waves. The gap now is line choice, speed and knowing which spot suits the day. This week is spent closing it, mostly on the right-hand points.

What an intermediate week focuses on

How a day actually runs

  1. 07:15

Previsioni call over coffee. The coach says which spot and why — you follow the reasoning, not just the instruction.

  2. 08:00

First session, before the wind fills in. Two hours in the water is the norm, not four.

  3. 11:30

Breakfast, then the flat part of the day: sleep, read, stretch, or walk into the village.

  4. 16:00

Second session or the video review, depending on what the afternoon wind did.

  5. 19:30

Dinner together. Tomorrow's plan is set here, on tomorrow's previsioni.

Which spots this week uses

Anchor Point when there is size and a working tide, Devil's Rock and Banana Point on the middle days, and Panorama when the swell drops and the work goes back to turns on open faces. Killer Point is a possibility, not a promise: it needs the right swell direction and enough paddle fitness in the group.

Intermedio questions

How do I know I am intermediate rather than beginner?

If you can paddle out unassisted, catch unbroken waves on a hard board and turn along the face rather than straight to the beach, you are intermediate for this week. If any of those three are still uncertain, the beginner week will take you further.

Will I definitely surf Anchor Point?

Only if the ocean cooperates. Anchor needs a solid north-west swell and the right tide; in a small week it barely breaks. The coaches will not put a group on a point that is not working just because it is famous.
