Almost nowhere here takes a booking from a stranger — no online form, and a foreign number often goes unanswered. A local calling in Darija is a different conversation, and that is the whole of what we do. It works across Taghazout, Tamraght, Aourir, Agadir centre and the hotel restaurants, which is where you go for a late kitchen, a wider range of cuisines or a proper dining room. Tell us the date, the time, how many of you and roughly the evening you want — we will arrange it and tell you either way.

Tell us what you want and we make the call in Darija, then come back with what is actually possible and what it costs. Sometimes that is a better arrangement than walking in would get you — a set menu for a group, a table held at a time that is otherwise gone. Sometimes it is simply the normal price, and we say so. We never quote before the supplier has confirmed.

Turning up does not work — the restaurants are small and the good ones fill. Two things usually do: a table arranged in advance somewhere that can genuinely seat you, or a cook coming to your camp or riad. Tell us the date, the number and any dietary needs. Larger groups need a couple of days’ notice, more over Christmas and New Year.

Six or more spending the day out? We arrange the food the evening before with a kitchen we work with and bring it to a meeting point we agree — the car park at the spot, your camp terrace. Ordered in advance, not on the day, and it is food that travels: cold or room temperature, in cool boxes. Nobody delivers to a break here, whatever you have been told.

There is a string of places along this coast where you buy fish by weight straight off the landing and carry it a few metres to a grill: Imi Ouaddar, the Taghazout port, Anza, Tamri, and the central market in Agadir. No menu, no booking — the price is whatever the fish costs that morning and what is there depends on what came in. Going with someone who can ask what is fresh and settle the weight makes it a completely different morning. We take people; message us and we will tell you which one suits your dates and what time to leave.
