Decide whether to bring one at all

For a trip of a week or less on a first or second visit, hiring wins on money and on hassle. Booking the board onto the flight
Every airline treats a board bag as oversized sports equipment and every one of them charges less online than at the airport, often by half. Add it when you book, not at check-in. Confirm the length limit — most low-cost carriers on this route cap at around 2 m, which fits a shortboard, a fish or a small mid-length but rules out most longboards and many 8-foot funboards. Packing the bag so it survives

For most visiting surfers, a board two to four litres above their home volume works better here than their usual stick. The waves are often bigger and faster than the ones people learn on in Europe, the paddles are long, and the takeoffs at the points happen on a moving wall. A step-up shortboard, a hybrid or a mid-length in the 6'6" to 7'6" range covers almost everything from Tamraght beach to Anchor Point. A high-performance small-wave board will feel understandably fine at Devil's Rock in July and badly out of its depth at Anchor in January.
Storing and moving it once you are here
Village streets in Taghazout are narrow and stepped, and most accommodation has a board rack or a corner for them. Confirm that before booking if you are bringing two. Moving a board between spots without a car means either walking — Tamraght to Devil's Rock is 20–25 minutes and entirely normal — or a shared taxi, where drivers will usually take a board on the roof or through the boot for a few dirhams extra. Rinse the salt off, keep it out of direct midday sun, and never leave it on a hot roof rack for an afternoon: delamination happens faster here than people expect.
