Board and wetsuit fitting on the terrace. You get a soft-top sized to your weight, not to your ego. Expect the wetsuit to feel two sizes too small; that is correct.

Whitewater. Waist deep, feet on the bottom, coach beside you. Most people stand on the board inside the first forty minutes and it does not feel like an achievement until later.

Out of the water, and you will be more tired than the clock says. Paddling uses muscles you have not asked anything of in years.

Lunch, then a genuinely empty afternoon. Do not book anything for it. Shoulder fatigue on day two is the single biggest thing that slows a beginner week.

Optional second session if the wind stayed off. On a first day the coach will usually say no, and they are right.
What to bring: reef-safe sunscreen you have already tested on your face, a spare t-shirt for the drive back, and no expectations about photographs.
